If you are looking for an easy and quick homemade pizza dough recipe, then you have come to the right place! We have used this recipe for pizza night in our home for years, and it is hands-down my family’s favorite pizza dough recipe! The easiest way to mix your homemade pizza dough is with a stand mixer. Pair this with homemade pizza sauce (you can find my recipe here) and your favorite toppings – you will have a delicious pizza meal for the fraction of the cost of take-out pizza!! (Not to mention you control the quality of every ingredient used!)
Ingredient List:
- 2 cups of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 5 teaspoons of active dry yeast
- All-purpose flour (approximately 5 cups)
Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe:
1: Add the 2 cups of warm water, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 5 teaspoons of yeast to your mixing bowl.
2: Give a quick little mix, and then allow the wet mixture to sit for 10 minutes. This is to give the yeast time to activate.
3: Next, add 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and mix well for 2 minutes on medium speed.
4: Then add 2 cups of all-purpose flour. Gradually add in more until desired consistency. (Dough should be elastic, but not too sticky. All the flour will be incorporated into the dough ball, and the sides of the bowl should be relatively clean.)
5: Remove the beater from the dough. Mold the pizza dough into a smooth ball, and allow it to rest and rise for 30 minutes. (You can sprinkle a little flour onto the bottom of the bowl to help keep the dough-ball from sticking.)
6: Punch down the dough, divide it into 2-3 pieces. Roll out onto a lightly floured surface. Transfer to pan of choice. Add toppings and bake on 425 degrees until desired doneness. (Usually around 20 minutes in my oven.)
