Our current favorite July 4th children’s books are right here! We are still growing our collection, so I anticipate this list to grow over the years. I love using books to celebrate a holiday and make it a little extra special! It is great to sit down and cool off with some good books for a few minutes between pool time and grilling out!

1: The 4th of July Story by Alice Dagliesh
This vintage picture book takes children all the way to Revolutionary times and shows them why we celebrate Independence Day! Bring history alive with an introduction to our fight for freedom and the creation of the Declaration of Independence!
2: Our Flag by Carl Memling
A classic Little Golden Book that shares the history of America’s flag with wonderful illustrations of colonial life. This book also includes some details on flag etiquette and the Pledge of Allegiance.
3: Liberty! How the Revolutionary War Began
A fabulous book for older children that details the events leading up to the Revolutionary War and the penning of the Declaration. Wonderful illustrations bring this book to life!
4: A More Perfect Union: The Story of the Constitution by Betsy Maestro
After America declared her independence, the journey of becoming a unified nation had just begun. This book details how and why the Constitution was written, in a way that children can understand.
5: Blue Sky White Stars by Sarvinder Naberhaus
A lovely patriotic tribute to the beauty of the American flag and its symbol of our country’s landscape, people, and history. A lovely emotionally stirring book.
