Chocolate Frosting Ingredients:
- Salted Butter ~ 1 stick of room temperature/soft
- Cocoa Powder ~ 2/3 cup
- Powdered Sugar ~ 16 oz bag
- Half and Half Cream ~ 1/3-1/2 cup (heavy cream or whole milk can be used as a substitute)
- Pure Vanilla Extract ~ 1 teaspoon
Chocolate Frosting Recipe:
After you’ve gathered the above listed ingredients, you are ready to mix up your homemade chocolate frosting! Here is exactly what you do……
1: In a large mixing bowl add the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
2: Add the butter, vanilla, and cream to the dry ingredients.
3: Use a hand mixer on low to mix the ingredients. Once it is somewhat mixed, move speed up to medium and then high. Continue mixing until everything is smooth and creamy.
4: Use a spatulata or spoon to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing bowl to make sure there are no unmixed ingredients. Mix on high speed again for 1-2 minutes - this will help the powdered sugar to lose any gritiness.
5: Cover and set aside or go ahead and frost the cake if it is ready. Enjoy! .
