🌷Children’s Book Review & Recommendation 🌷 Title: 🌷Children’s Book Review & Recommendation 🌷

Title: Consider the Lilies
Author: Jennifer Grant
Illustrator: Julianna Swaney
Publisher: Eerdmans Books for Young Readers, 2026

🪻My Thoughts:
This stunning picture book is an absolute must-have for our family bookshelves! We were captivated by the gorgeous, colorful, and delightfully detailed illustrations on every single page. The lyrical prose feels like a gentle poem to read aloud, and the sweet, comforting message at the end serves as the perfect reminder that we, too, are are deeply cared for and held with an even more tender love than any wildflower. 🌼
What a refreshing delight to discover a new picture book created with such care and beauty! This one will be displayed and reread for years to come. 💗
5/5 ⭐️ — I highly recommend it!

Title: The Mistress of Tall Acre
Author: Laura Frantz
Publisher: Revell, 2015

My Review:
Another Laura Frantz book to add to my favorites list! I enjoyed this gentle tale with its lush descriptions and complicated character emotions. I especially adored the sweet and winsome Lily Cate, she completely stole my heart! 💗 But when the intrigue began at the halfway mark I could not put it down!!! I had so many questions and I was anxious to see how it would all (hopefully) resolve! I was absolutely taken off guard by the turn of events! 🤯 No spoilers here - you’ll just have to read and find out for yourself exactly what I am referring to. 😉
All in all, this is a beautiful love story, not just of a man and a woman, but of a child seeking love, family, and safety. Triumph and tragedy, loyalty and betrayal, you will find it all in the rich pages of this heart-touching tale. Absolutely beautiful.
5/5 ⭐️ I highly recommend this book!

Shadows of Swanford Abbey
Author: Julie Klassen
Publisher: Bethany House, 2021

🔎My Thoughts:
Step into the world of Miss Rebecca Lane - a woman with no dowry, teetering on the edge of spinsterhood, and earning her keep as a lady’s companion. Life feels manageable until her employer insists on visiting Swanford, forcing Rebecca to confront painful memories she’d rather leave buried forever. 👒🐎🎩
I was completely swept up in the immersive Regency atmosphere: the lush descriptions of the abbey, the elegant clothes, and the richly drawn characters made me feel like I was walking the cloisters right alongside them. This novel is the perfect blend of cozy mystery, second-chance romance, and quiet intrigue that kept me turning page after page! 📖
4.5/5 ⭐️ for this delightful Regency novel!

🌷Picture Book Review🐝
Miss Prim Goes Wild
Author: Katy Rose
Illustrator: Thai My Phuong
Publisher: Waterbrook

🪶My Thoughts:
Miss Prim likes everything just-so. Her days are perfectly scheduled, her routines precise, and she even insists that nature follows her rules. But when Miss Prim has an accident and the wild takes over her tidy little yard, something beautiful begins to happen. Slowly, Miss Prim’s heart softens. She discovers wonder, relaxation, and - dare I say it - the pure joy of becoming a nature lover.
This whimsical story gently reminds us that sometimes the messiest, wildest things can heal both our spaces and our hearts.
4/5 ⭐️ for this whimsical story!

Book Review:
A Song In the Dark
Author: Kimberley Woodhouse
Publisher: Bethany House (2025)
A stand-alone novel set in WW2 Europe.

My Thoughts:
This book left me reeling with emotions from start to finish. I was hooked from the very beginning to the very end! I could barely put this book down, I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next with Chaisley, Melanie, & Rick (Seriously, what a dream team!) Following along with Chaisley's tour throughout WW2 Europe was quite the adventure. What started out as an 18 month piano concert tour, turned into SO much more! Secret codes, espionage, & daring rescues kept me on my toes - sometimes I found myself holding my breath, not knowing if someone was about to be caught by the Nazis!! Seriously, I never knew what was going to happen next! I devoured this story in a few short days, so I would encourage you to clear your schedule if you're planning on reading this thriller. The worst part about this book is that it ended, because I was dying to know what the next chapter of life held for Chaisley!! This book left me feeling inspired to do the right thing, no matter what the risk might be!
5/5 ⭐️ I HIGHLY recommend it this book!!!

Book Title: The Colonel's Lady
Author: Laura Frantz
Publisher: Revell (2011)

Book Review:
Laura Frantz books never disappoint, and The Colonel’s Lady was no exception! ✨
In 1779, genteel Virginia spinster Roxanna Rowan journeys to remote Fort Endeavor expecting to reunite with her father; only to face devastating loss. Penniless and alone on the wild Kentucky frontier, she becomes scrivener to the enigmatic Colonel Cassius McLinn. Roxanna’s complicated emotions felt so relatable - life is messy, and the path of wanting to do the right thing isn’t always clear. Her slow-burn love story with Cassius is layered with tension, hidden truths, and sweet tasteful yearning. The lovely, immersive descriptions and meticulous historical details pulled me straight into the dangerous Revolutionary War frontier.
This is a heartfelt tale of resilience, faith, forgiveness, and restoration.
5/5 ⭐️ I highly enjoyed and wholeheartedly recommend this book!

The threads of three young lives intertwine when they arrive in a town governed by a mayor suspected in the growing number of mysterious disappearances targeting people of color and faith.
